Hello Guys,
You might be facing an issue while accessing Remote Desktop Connection (RDP) from your computer. Below are the symptoms and their solution to get this issue resolved.
Symptoms:
1. The VM screenshot shows the OS fully loaded and waiting for the credentials
2. If you try to RDP the VM either internally or externally, you'll get the message:
An authentication error has occurred.
The function requested is not supported.
Workaround 1:
If you are using Windows 10 then you have to uninstall the KB4103727 update from your machine. Once it is uninstalled you have to restart your machine.
In case you are using Windows 7 machine then you have to uninstall the KB4103718 update from your machine.
Workaround 2:
If you didn't find patch no. mentioned in workaround 1 then you can follow this step to get this worked on your machine.
As an alternative you can set the following registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System\CredSSP\Parameters] "AllowEncryptionOracle"=dword:00000002. After that you need to reboot the machine.
Workaround 3:
On the affected PC edit the GPO, go to run command and write gpedit.msc to edit in group policy and go to Computer Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> System -> Credentials Delegation and edit the setting name: Encryption Oracle Remediation and set the value to "Vulnerable". After that, you need to reboot the PC once.
